The economy of Buttrio territory, once predominantly agricultural, can today rely on a mature and high-quality tertiary sector in its various facets, serving the population and the numerous and important artisanal activities established there.
In recent times, a promising tourist accommodation, sector has developed, expressed through a high-quality food and wine offering within renowned agritourism facilities and restaurants.
To support this vocation, Buttrio has joined the “Friuli Orientale” Commerce District, which unites the “Triangolo della sedia” (Chair Triangle) and the Eastern Hills.
This district, established in accordance with the provisions of the regional law “SviluppoImpresa” (Business Development), extends between regional roads 55 and 56 and brings together various municipalities with a total population of approximately 42,000 inhabitants.
The goal is to carry out projects aimed at enhancing and regenerating city centers with a commercial vocation, also promoting aspects related to history, culture, and traditions, with particular attention to tourism, enhancing the offering of local products.
Currently, Buttrio can rely on qualified professionals operating in technical and IT services, financial consultancy, and within the professional and healthcare fields. The service offering is characterized by the widespread presence of public establishments such as bars, taverns, wine shops, trattorias, restaurants, and agritourism establishments catering to both dining and hospitality.
In 2010, the “Buttrio 100 activities for you” Association (www.buttrio100.it) was established and counts approximately a hundred members. Its objectives are: creating a network of collaboration among various productive activities in the territory, raising its notoriety, establishing a collaborative relationship with local institutions, and improving communication with consumers.
In this context, an important role is played by the Pro Loco “Buri” (www.buri.it), active since 1995 with the aim of promoting the historical, artistic, cultural, naturalistic, social, and tourist peculiarities of the Municipality of Buttrio.
