After World War II, the park of Villa Toppo-Florio underwent several transformations, including the construction of a staircase and a central walkway, as well as the conversion of the eastern green area to accommodate recreational facilities. The area that once housed a boxwood and oak maze was replaced with workshops for the College of Mutilatini.<\/p>\n

Today, following a recent renovation, the workshop space has been transformed into the Lapidarium, where various archaeological artifacts from the important Roman city of Aquileia and belonging to the Toppo collection are housed. Inaugurated in 2012 during the eightieth edition of the Regional Wine Fair, it is still in the process of being set up and is not currently open to the public. Among the artifacts on display, it’s worth noting the importance of a fragment of an attic sarcophagus depicting an Amazonomachy scene and a mutilated statue of a toga-wearing figure dating back to the late 1st century BC and the early 1st century AD.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
